RMS is registered with the Construction Industry Development Board to ensure we meet requirements for commercial projects and maintain the constructing and building standards required in the industry.
How long have you been in the industry.
Having studied and worked through apprentice and bursary programs with one of the top commercial construction companies in the country straight out of High School our Director has almost 2 decades of hands on experience as well as an additional 40 years combined commercial and operations experience with our Quantity surveyor and Operations Manager. Our team has the expertise for the job at hand.
Where do you build.
We predominantly focus on the areas from Somerset west up to Hermanus but should there be remote location work we are equipped to set up remote sites for the project with our teams living on site as well as long duration commercial projects.
Does RMS only offer building services.
RMS is frequently involved in oversight and project management of complex and large projects where the contractual oversight is needed on behalf of the client to ensure the project remains within budget and timeframe. We offer a full suite of services related to the construction industry from consulting , engineering , project management , turnkey projects , construction and general contracting and auditing.
How long does it take to build a home.
Every project is unique and many variables can affect the timeline. We will discuss with the client , upon costing , the duration of the project and highlight any areas of concern we may foresee for the build. Generally a house can take anywhere from 4 – 6 months with complex projects taking longer based on requirements.
What is the NHBRC and what do they do.
The NHBRC is the National Home Builders Registration Council. All contractors involved with home building are required to be registered with the NHBRC. This protects the client and contractor and ensures the correct building standards and regulations are followed during the construction process.

RMS is registered with the NHBRC and maintains an annual certificate to ensure our projects meet the national standards for building.
How much does building a home cost.
Building costs vary greatly with many variables such as location , size , specification and finishes. We work closely with our clients to advise on materials and finishes that would suite the budget and help allocate costs to items where money is better spent.
What guarantees are offered on your work and building materials.
All warranties and guarantees from our suppliers are passed directly onto the client for any work or materials. This can range from 6 months workmanship guarantee to 12 – 18 months warranty on materials and products used. We stand by our work and will always be on hand to assist with any items that may be defective as a result of our work. Customer service is our priority.
Materials choice and recomendations.
With years of hands on experience we gladly help our clients in choosing the right products for the task at hand. Sometimes a saving on certain products can cost more with maintenance in years to come. The final decisions are that of the client but with some guidance we can ensure the right materials are utilised where they need to be.
